Scoill Phurt le Moirrey

* Be Curious * Be Brave * Be Kind *

A big warm welcome to our Scoill Phurt le Moirrey family!

I feel very privileged to have spent time with you and your child in your garden so a massive thank you for taking the time to meet with me. It was particularly wonderful to gain a true insight into your child's personality and hear them chat and see them play. Even if your child was a little shy with me, there were lots of smiles so I hope you agree that we have made a great start!

At first, I admit I was a little anxious about how the transition would work this year with regards to these uncertain times but by doing things differently, I believe that our transition so far has been much more personal. I have enjoyed spending time talking about all our new children. This fills me with the confidence that your child will adapt and settle into school life easily. Our utmost aim is to develop good relationships, so Mrs Crawley ( our Nursery Nurse ) will soon get involved too so that your child gets to know both of us. We will also continue to communicate and have our transition 'Play and Stay session' on the field later on this Summer Term. I will let you know dates as soon as possible so that you are able to join us.

Until then, I will continue to update you with information about our school and our Reception Class. Today, I have included a basic outline of our Early Years Curriculum for you to gain a greater understanding of what and how we learn (see below to download).

I also look forward to sending you details via email about our 'SPLM Starters 2020' facebook page which will start this week.

So, despite things being a little different, we continue to make progress and hopefully through the various lines of communication, you will feel confident about your child's transition into our school.

Scoill Phurt le Moirrey really is a very special place so before you know it your child will be settled here with us and will feel like a very special person within our whole school community.

Speak soon,

Mrs Bailey
