On Wednesday 27th September our new School Council was elected for the year.
It was an exciting time, with a record number of people standing to represent our 7 classes. There was lots of canvassing going on, with many posters displaying the many qualities that are required to be an effective member of the team. Some promises were made and there were many offers to make improvements and listen to what the children in our school have to say.
The votes were cast, the election was declared closed. The chairpersons (Archie and Freya) and the treasurers (Ruby and Elliott) counted and checked the voting slips. It was a tense time and there was an excited, yet nervous mood in the school.
In afternoon assembly the results were announced!
Well done to everyone who put their names forward to stand in this election. We are proud of each and every one of you. You have shown a readiness to be involved in supporting your fellow pupils, a resilience to take time and effort to let people know your strengths and how you can help, you have been resourceful in getting your message across, you have shown positive relationship skills when communicating with others, you have been reflective when considering different points of view and ideas that you may not have considered before and you have remembered to be a good role model for the whole school.
